A FIRST DESCRIPTION OF HAEMOCYTES OF PINNA NOBILIS

Our preliminary study allowed us to identify two main haemocyte types in haemolymph from P. nobilis. However, functional studies are also needed to clarify the role of P. nobilis haemocytes in immune responses, as already reported  for  other  molluscs.
